The Artwork Story
Mina Mina Jukurrpa (Sacred Vine Dreaming)
The original painting by artist Pauline Napangardi Gallagher depicts an ancient Dreaming story about a journey by a group of Warlpiri women who travelled across the desert gathering a tree vine called Ngalyipi. The vine has long been used by the Warlpiri women for sacred ceremonies.
The Ngalyipi vine also has medicinal uses.
